About me

Hala, I'm Reem and I'm currently stationed at Mozilla as a senior web developer on the websites team. That's right, not only do I make websites, but I live and breathe them (until 5pm on weekdays).

I've lived in many different places, so I consider many different places home: Abu Dhabi, Doha, Beirut, Toronto, Brisbane, and Melbourne. As for where I really am, I've been lucky enough to consider Melbourne, Australia my abode since 2023.

Like nearly every millennial with access to Web2.0 in the early 2000s, I dabbled with creating my own themes on Myspace and Tumblr using HTML and CSS. I decided to vocationally delve into web development after working in data science for a couple of mundane years and, remembering the creative excitement web development gave me in the past, I jumped ship from data. I'm nostalgic, see.

Currently I'm reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X and Orientalism by Edward W. Said (a man of groundbreaking brilliance I'm dedicating time to study and learn from).
